President Tinubu Vows to Tackle Insecurity and Stabilize Economy in Easter Message

In a heartfelt Easter message delivered on Friday, Nigerian President Bola Tinubu reassured citizens of his administration’s unwavering commitment to addressing the nation’s pressing security challenges and stabilizing the economy. Speaking to Nigerians at home and abroad, Tinubu emphasized the symbolic significance of Easter, which represents sacrifice, resilience, and the victory of light over darkness—a message he said resonates deeply with Nigeria’s current realities.

“This season reminds us of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, a testament to hope and renewal,” Tinubu stated. “It is a time for us to reflect on our collective strength as we navigate economic strain and persistent security threats with determination and resolve.”

The president acknowledged the sacrifices made by Nigeria’s armed forces, praising their bravery in confronting threats to national security. “Our gallant men and women continue to leave their families to defend the nation against evil actors,” he said. Tinubu admitted that while challenges remain, his administration is intensifying efforts to tackle insecurity, including forging international partnerships and deploying additional resources.

“We are making resources available and receiving assistance from our global partners to enhance our security operations,” he explained. Tinubu also cited his recent visit to Plateau State, where he met with victims of violence and reassured them of the government’s commitment to restoring peace.

Tinubu expressed optimism about the progress being made, noting that security chiefs have provided strong assurances of breakthroughs in ongoing operations. However, he stressed the importance of unity and collective responsibility in overcoming Nigeria’s challenges. “No nation can thrive where fear prevails, and no progress can be sustained without peace,” he said, urging citizens to reject forces that threaten national stability.

On the economic front, Tinubu defended his administration’s reform agenda, acknowledging the difficulties but insisting they are necessary for long-term prosperity. “These reforms are demanding but carefully designed to deliver shared prosperity for all Nigerians,” he said. He emphasized that meaningful transformation requires sacrifice, urging Nigerians to remain steadfast in their support.

As the country approaches another electoral cycle, Tinubu called on political actors to adhere to the Electoral Act, emphasizing the importance of responsible participation in democracy. “Democracy flourishes where responsibility, restraint, and informed engagement prevail,” he said.

Despite the prevailing challenges, Tinubu expressed confidence in Nigeria’s economic trajectory, pointing to positive indicators that suggest the country is on the right path. He thanked Nigerians for their support and pledged to continue working toward a safer, stronger, and more prosperous nation.

“I enjoin you to keep the faith and contribute to the progress of our nation in your various capacities,” Tinubu concluded. He wished Christians a joyful Easter celebration and prayed for peace, unity, and prosperity across Nigeria.
