University of Cincinnati Track Star Graduates with Perfect GPA While Dominating National Heptathlon
CINCINNATI — Juliette Laracuente-Huebner isn’t just fast on the track—she’s also a speedster in the classroom. The 21-year-old University of Cincinnati standout recently graduated with a flawless 4.0 GPA, completing her undergraduate degree in just three years—all while cementing herself as the nation’s top heptathlete.
Her journey began in middle school, where she first discovered her love for sprinting and hurdles. By eighth grade, she had already qualified for the state meet in high jump, a sign of the athletic brilliance to come.
“I tried high jump on a whim, and suddenly I was competing at the state level,” Laracuente-Huebner recalled. “From there, I just kept pushing myself.”
That drive carried her to the University of Cincinnati, where she earned an athletic scholarship and quickly rose to the top of collegiate track and field. Her heptathlon score currently leads the nation, a testament to her relentless work ethic.
But her success isn’t just about raw talent. Laracuente-Huebner credits her tight-knit support system—teammates, friends, and mentors—for keeping her grounded.
“My training partners make sure I stay humble, and my friends back home keep me focused,” she said. “It’s easy to get caught up in success, but they remind me there’s always more to achieve.”
Her professors have noticed that same dedication in the classroom. Brian Earl, one of her instructors, described her as a rare blend of discipline and humility.
“Her attention to detail, her willingness to learn—it’s exceptional,” Earl said. “She doesn’t just meet expectations; she exceeds them in every area.”
Laracuente-Huebner, touched by his encouragement, added, “He’s been one of my biggest supporters, always checking in on my meets. That kind of mentorship means everything.”
Now, as she wraps up her collegiate career, her sights are set on even bigger goals. The 2028 Los Angeles Olympics loom as her ultimate dream, but first, she’s focused on securing another top-three finish at outdoor nationals and winning a Big 12 title.
Balancing elite athletics with academic excellence hasn’t been easy, but Laracuente-Huebner makes it look effortless. As she steps into the next chapter of her career, one thing is certain: she’s just getting started.
