Sibling Rivalry Takes Center Stage at Cleveland Browns Rookie Minicamp
BEREA, Ohio — The Fano brothers, Spencer and Logan, are no strangers to facing off on the football field. But this weekend, their sibling rivalry reached new heights as they lined up against each other during the Cleveland Browns’ rookie minicamp.
Spencer, the Browns’ ninth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and Logan, who signed with the team as an undrafted free agent, are now teammates—and competitors—in Cleveland. While Spencer’s place on the roster is secure, Logan is fighting for his spot, making the minicamp a pivotal moment for both brothers.
“It feels a lot like it did at Utah, but then I look and see we’re wearing Browns jerseys. It’s surreal,” Spencer shared. “You hear stories about how guys struggle when they feel alone, but it’s hard to feel that way when the person you’ve lived with your entire life is just a few doors down in the hotel.”
The two brothers have been competing against each other for years, but practicing on an NFL field brought a new level of excitement. “This is an NFL team. There’s just another level to it that makes you feel like, man, we’re doing it,” Logan said.
Their journey to this point has been anything but ordinary. Spencer, a highly touted offensive tackle, was a top-10 pick, while Logan, a defensive end, went undrafted despite a standout collegiate career. Logan began at BYU before transferring to Utah in 2023 to join Spencer. He started 23 games for the Utes, earning second-team All-Big 12 honors in 2025. However, injuries—including three ACL tears in seven years—and a hamstring issue that limited his performance at the NFL Combine hurt his draft stock.
Despite the challenges, Logan landed an opportunity with the Browns, where he’ll have the chance to prove himself. “Spencer is the most athletic tackle I’ve ever seen,” Logan admitted. “He’s got good feet, good hands, he’s strong—it makes it hard for guys like me to get around him. I’ve got to find different ways to make it work.”
For Spencer, the focus is on preparing for the spotlight as the projected starting left tackle on a revamped Browns offensive line. Head coach Todd Monken praised his early progress, saying, “He was fine. Everything was fine. I’ll have a better idea once we watch the tape, but you can certainly see his diligence. I didn’t see anything that would have made me think any differently of him as a player.”
The brothers’ path to the NFL has been a dream come true, though it wasn’t exactly how they envisioned it. “We did think about the possibility of being drafted by the same team,” Spencer said. “This is the next best thing.”
As Spencer prepares for a key role in Cleveland, Logan faces an uphill battle to secure his place on the roster. Known for his speed, hands, and ability to power through contact, Logan has the tools to make an impact—and he’ll have his younger brother cheering him on every step of the way.
For fans of the Browns—and sibling rivalries alike—this unique story is one to watch as the NFL season approaches.
