NFL Star Andrew Ogletree Hosts Free Community Fun Day in Dayton Hometown
DAYTON, Ohio — Indianapolis Colts tight end Andrew “Drew” Ogletree is giving back to his roots this month with a free community event blending football, family fun, and local pride. The Northridge High School alumnus will host a Community Fun Day & Football Drill Session on Saturday, June 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at his former school, located at 2251 Timber Lane.
A Homecoming for a Hometown Hero
Ogletree, a First Team All-Ohio standout in both football and basketball at Northridge, went on to play college football at the University of Findlay before being drafted by the Colts in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Now, he’s returning to inspire the next generation while strengthening community ties.
“This event is about bringing people together—whether you love football or just want a fun day out with the family,” organizers said.
What to Expect at the Event
The free event promises something for everyone:
- Football Drills (10 a.m. start): Ogletree will lead drills alongside Northridge High coaches and varsity players. No prior experience is needed, and walk-ups are welcome, though pre-registration is encouraged. (Sign up here).
- Free Food & Activities: Lunch and snacks (while supplies last), carnival games, a dunk tank, and face painting.
- Community Resources: Local organizations, including Bryttan’s Battalion Pediatric Cancer Foundation and Foundation for a Drug-Free World, will have informational booths.
- Special Attractions: Free haircuts (first come, first served), a DJ, military displays, and a “Touch-a-Truck” experience with SWAT and fire vehicles.
- Meet-and-Greet: Fans can get autographs and photos with Ogletree.
A Legacy of Giving Back
Ogletree has partnered with multiple local groups, including Harrison Township, Just a Pair of Shoes, and the Northridge Alumni Veterans Memorial, to make the day possible. His goal? To create a lasting impact beyond the football field.
“Drew’s always been about community,” said a Northridge coach. “He could’ve gone anywhere for an offseason event, but he chose to come home.”
How to Attend
The event is open to all ages. While registration for drills is recommended, walk-ins are welcome. Families are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the full lineup.
