Cincinnati Reds Unveil Bold New City Connect Uniforms for 2024 Season

CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati Reds are stepping up their game with a fresh look for the 2024 season. On Thursday, the team revealed their new City Connect uniforms, which are set to make their debut at the April 11 home game against the Los Angeles Angels.

Designed in collaboration with Nike, Major League Baseball (MLB), and Fanatics, the uniforms aim to blend the Reds’ storied history with a modern twist. According to the team, the design emphasizes the franchise’s iconic red color while incorporating elements that reflect Cincinnati’s vibrant spirit and the passion of its fans.

Karen Forgus Bowman, the Reds’ Chief Communications and Community Officer, emphasized the significance of the new uniforms. “Red is at the heart of this next chapter in our City Connect story,” she said. “This fresh take on our classic color symbolizes the energy of today’s players and fans, while staying rooted in the legacy of Reds baseball.”

The eye-catching red uniforms will be worn during Saturday home games, offering fans a bold new look to enjoy. However, the team’s popular black City Connect uniforms, introduced in prior seasons, will still be featured on Fridays.

For fans eager to show their support, merchandise featuring the new design is already available. Items can be purchased at the Reds Team Shop inside Great American Ball Park, as well as online through Nike, MLBShop, Fanatics, and select retailers.

The City Connect program, launched by Nike and MLB in 2021, aims to celebrate the unique relationship between baseball teams and their hometowns. Each uniform series highlights the distinct personality, values, and traditions of the city it represents.

The Reds’ new uniforms join a growing lineup of City Connect designs across MLB, each offering fans a fresh way to connect with their favorite teams. This initiative has been widely praised for its innovative approach to blending sports, community, and culture.

As anticipation builds for the upcoming season, the unveiling of the new uniforms has sparked excitement among Reds fans. The April 11 debut against the Angels promises to be a memorable occasion, showcasing not just the team’s talent on the field but also their commitment to honoring Cincinnati’s rich baseball heritage.

For many fans, the uniforms represent more than just a change in attire—they symbolize a new chapter in the Reds’ history, one that bridges the past and the present while looking ahead to a bright future.
