CINCINNATI, OH — High school students across central and southern Ohio have a rare opportunity to step inside the world of federal law enforcement this summer. The FBI’s Cincinnati Division is now accepting applications for its 2026 Teen Academy, a hands-on program offering teens an inside look at careers in the Bureau.

What’s the FBI Teen Academy?

Designed for students ages 14–18, the free, one-day program immerses participants in real-world FBI operations. Attendees will explore forensic science, crisis negotiation tactics, behavioral analysis, and the roles of intelligence analysts and special agents.

“This isn’t just a career fair—it’s a chance for students to see how the FBI operates behind the scenes,” said an FBI Cincinnati spokesperson. “They’ll learn how different teams work together to keep communities safe.”

Key Details for Applicants

  • Locations & Dates:
    • June 26 – FBI Cincinnati Field Office
    • July 17 – Goodwill Miami Valley (Dayton)
    • August 14 – FBI Columbus Resident Agency
  • Time: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day
  • Eligibility: Open to high school students in good standing with parental consent.
  • Deadline: Applications must be emailed to Cincinnati_outreach@fbi.gov by May 11.

Why Apply?

Past participants have called the program “eye-opening,” with activities like mock evidence collection and crisis scenario training. The FBI emphasizes diversity in recruitment, encouraging students from all backgrounds to apply.

Spots are limited—last year’s sessions filled quickly. The application form and full details are available on the FBI Cincinnati’s outreach page.

How to Stand Out

The FBI looks for students with strong academic records, leadership potential, and a genuine interest in law enforcement. A teacher or mentor recommendation can boost an application.

For Ohio teens considering a future in federal service, this could be the first step toward a career with the FBI.
