Columbus Zoo said the baby brush-tailed bettong is named Tajin. The brush-tailed bettongs, also known as rat kangaroos or woylies, are a marsupial native to southern Australia. Similar to other marsupials, these babies are not fully developed at birth and crawl into their mother’s puch where they nurse and grow for approximately 3.5 months.

Tajin was born on Nov. 14, 2025 to mother Fajita. The joey emerged at the end of February and is staying close to mom while exploring its new world. The Animal Care teams named Tajin to fit with the spicy family theme with its mother and its grandmother, named Salsa.

The sex of the joey has not yet been confirmed.

Brush-tailed bettongs are considered critically endangered.

Visitors can look for Tajin and Fajita in the Australia and the Islands Nocturnal Building.

New Café Set to Enliven Hilliard with Coffee, Ice Cream, and Waffles

HILLIARD, Ohio – A new café is preparing to open its doors in Hilliard, promising to offer a delightful mix of coffee, ice cream, and waffles. Al Sindabad Café, located at 4562 Cemetery Road in the Hilliard Center, aims to become a local hotspot for residents and visitors alike. Situated within a multi-tenant commercial property alongside a Goodyear tire center and a Dollar General store, the café is strategically positioned to attract foot traffic from a diverse clientele.

The café is expected to open soon, although a specific date has yet to be announced. Representatives from Al Sindabad Café indicate that they are fine-tuning operations and look forward to welcoming customers. The anticipation is palpable, as café culture continues to thrive in American communities, serving as social hubs for gathering and relaxation.

Hilliard, a growing suburb of Columbus, has garnered attention for its welcoming environment and thriving local economy. With an increasing number of residents seeking pleasant dining experiences, Al Sindabad Café seeks to fill a notable gap in the community’s food and beverage offerings. The café’s focus on artisanal drinks and treats is aligned with a growing trend toward gourmet food options in smaller towns.

Café owner Ahmed Al Sindabad expressed enthusiasm about the venture. “We are committed to creating a unique environment where people can enjoy high-quality beverages and delicious treats. Our aim is to bring the community together over great food and friendly service,” Al Sindabad said during a recent conversation. With an emphasis on customer experience, the establishment promises an inviting atmosphere, complete with cozy seating and a welcoming staff.

The café will feature an array of coffee options, from robust espresso shots to refreshing iced beverages, catering to diverse palates. Ice cream lovers will be delighted by the selection of flavors and toppings, while waffle enthusiasts can look forward to a variety of sweet and savory options. The menu emphasizes quality ingredients, and local sourcing will be a priority, supporting Ohio farmers and producers.

Creating job opportunities and fostering local economic development is another key benefit of Al Sindabad Café’s opening. As Hilliard continues to expand, small businesses like Al Sindabad Café contribute significantly to the economic landscape, offering new jobs and stimulating growth across various sectors. The café’s opening aligns with Hilliard’s ongoing efforts to support local entrepreneurship and encourage more independent businesses to thrive.

The café also holds promises beyond just serving food and beverages. It aims to become a community gathering place where residents can connect, collaborate, and engage in local events. This fits within a broader cultural movement where cafés operate as both social and creative spaces, encouraging community interaction and networking.

Hilliard’s local leaders are excited about the anticipated opening, viewing it as an opportunity to enhance the area’s cultural and social offerings. Mayor Bob Carson commented on the café’s potential impact, stating, “Al Sindabad Café represents not only a new business venture but also a chance for our community to gather and enjoy high-quality food and drink. We welcome them and look forward to seeing the positive effect they will have on our town.”

As Al Sindabad Café prepares for its launch, the hopes and expectations of the community rest on its success. This venture signifies a commitment to enriching Hilliard’s cultural fabric and represents the increasing desire for unique and high-quality food and drink options. Local businesses like the café inject vitality into neighborhoods, providing charming alternatives to chain establishments and contributing to local economic resilience.

In the wake of the café’s opening, it remains to be seen how the new establishment will influence Hilliard’s dining scene. If successful, Al Sindabad Café could pave the way for future entrepreneurial endeavors, inspiring other local business owners to set up shop and contribute further to the community’s flourishing landscape.

The opening of Al Sindabad Café marks a significant moment in Hilliard’s growth trajectory. As the café prepares to welcome its first customers, it stands as a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit thriving in this suburban community—a place where residents not only live but also gather around shared experiences over coffee, ice cream, and waffles.
