EKSU Alumni Association Partners Scholarships Café to Sponsor Fully Funded Global Scholarship Mentorship for Top Graduates
The Ekiti State University Alumni Association has announced a landmark strategic partnership with Scholarships Café aimed at expanding global academic opportunities for outstanding graduating students and young alumni of the university.
The initiative, unveiled by the Global Executive Council of the association under the leadership of Global President Ambassador ‘Seyi Idowu, is designed to strengthen the academic competitiveness and international visibility of Ekiti State University graduates.
According to a formal statement signed by the Global Secretary, Olumide Abudu, the collaboration will see two exceptional EKSU graduating students sponsored annually into a fully structured premium scholarship mentorship program managed by Scholarships Café.
Each selected beneficiary will receive comprehensive support valued at $3,000, covering scholarship and school matching strategies, CV restructuring using the IDAN CV framework, statement of purpose and scholarship essay reviews, application positioning strategies, and monthly mentorship sessions. The program will also provide access to exclusive scholarship resources and a global mentorship community.
The Alumni Association described the initiative as a major investment in the intellectual capital of EKSU, noting that the partnership is intended to expand access to fully funded international Master’s and PhD opportunities, strengthen the university’s global academic footprint, and provide structured mentorship to high-potential students.
To ensure transparency and merit in the selection process, the Global President has constituted a dedicated Selection Committee tasked with overseeing nominations and recommendations for the program. The committee is chaired by Professor Olu Olatunji, with Professor Adeyinka Atunramu serving as Secretary. Other members include Professor K. K. Arogundade, Dr. Dotun Adetunberu, and Mr. Sola Fayemi.
The committee has been mandated to develop and publish clear eligibility and assessment criteria aligned with the objectives of the partnership, coordinate a transparent nomination and screening process for final-year students and recent graduates, and evaluate applicants based on academic excellence, leadership potential, and commitment to pursuing fully funded postgraduate opportunities abroad.
It will also recommend two outstanding candidates annually to the Alumni Association for final endorsement and sponsorship while ensuring fairness, integrity, and meritocracy throughout the process. The committee is expected to work closely with Scholarships Café to ensure selected scholars meet program expectations and remain actively engaged throughout the mentorship cycle.
The Alumni Association emphasized that the partnership goes beyond sponsorship, describing it as a long-term strategy to build a sustainable pipeline of globally competitive EKSU scholars and reinforce alumni impact through direct investment in student success.
“With this initiative, we are not only supporting our brightest minds but also strengthening the global reputation and legacy of Ekiti State University,” the statement noted.
The program is expected to commence with the selection of its first set of beneficiaries in the upcoming academic cycle, marking a new chapter in alumni-driven academic advancement and global scholarship access for EKSU graduates.
