Cedarville University Graduates Defy National Trends with Exceptional Job Placement Rates
DAYTON, Ohio — While recent graduates across the nation face a challenging job market, Cedarville University’s Class of 2025 is bucking the trend with remarkable success. According to the university’s annual First Destination Survey, an impressive 98.36% of its graduates secured employment or enrolled in graduate school within six months of earning their degrees. This figure far outpaces national averages and highlights the institution’s commitment to preparing students for life beyond the classroom.
The survey revealed that 83.36% of graduates landed jobs, while 15.01% pursued advanced degrees. These results stand in stark contrast to broader trends. A recent Kickresume survey referenced by Fortune found that 58% of recent graduates nationwide are still searching for full-time employment, compared to just 25% of earlier graduates. Additionally, only 12% of recent graduates had full-time jobs lined up by graduation, down from nearly 40% in previous years.
Jennifer Czerniak, associate director of career services at Cedarville, attributes the university’s success to its comprehensive approach to student preparation. “This achievement reflects Cedarville’s commitment to equipping students to step confidently into their calling, prepared for both career and life beyond graduation,” she said.
For the past decade, Cedarville graduates have consistently achieved employment or graduate school enrollment rates above 98%. Czerniak emphasized the role of faculty and classroom expectations in shaping students’ readiness for the workforce. “Our focus on preparation, communication, and professionalism ensures that graduates are not only qualified but also poised to excel in their chosen fields,” she noted.
The university’s career services office plays a pivotal role in this success. From personalized career counseling to mock interviews and resume workshops, Cedarville offers tailored support to help students navigate the competitive job market and secure spots in prestigious graduate programs. “We help students craft strong resumes, CVs, and personal statements, and we offer mock interviews tailored to their specific field or the programs they are applying to,” Czerniak explained. “Our goal is to help them present themselves with confidence and clarity.”
The First Destination Survey also broke down outcomes by academic department, showcasing success across disciplines. Notably, several departments achieved a 100% placement rate, including Allied Health and Psychology, Bible, Business, Communication, Education, History and Government, Liberal Arts, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Social Work. Other departments, such as Art, Design and Theatre, Engineering, and Music, maintained strong rates above 90%.
As Cedarville University continues to celebrate these accomplishments, its graduates are stepping into roles that reflect their dedication and the university’s rigorous academic environment.
