Kettering Health Breaks Ground on $26 Million Health Center in Xenia, Ohio

DAYTON, Ohio — Kettering Health officially broke ground on its latest project Wednesday, marking the start of construction on a state-of-the-art health center in Xenia, Ohio. The 24,000-square-foot facility, announced in September 2025, is poised to transform healthcare access in Greene County with its comprehensive services and modern amenities.

The new health center, expected to cost $26 million, will be located on the REACH site along Progress Drive. Once completed in late 2028, it will offer a wide range of services, including primary care, walk-in care, lab testing, gynecology services, and advanced imaging. The facility is anticipated to employ roughly 20 healthcare providers, further boosting the local economy and enhancing patient care in the region.

“This project is a major milestone for Xenia and Greene County,” said Ethan Reynolds, Mayor of Xenia. “It ensures continued access to quality healthcare, modern facilities, and a commitment to meeting the needs of our community. With Kettering Health’s $40 million investment—which includes keeping Greene Memorial Hospital operational—we’re seeing real progress and a strong partnership that benefits everyone.”

Paul Hoover, President of Kettering Health Greene Memorial and Soin Medical Center, echoed the mayor’s sentiments. “Working alongside the city of Xenia, we’re expanding healthcare access and delivering exceptional patient experiences,” Hoover said. “This center reflects our dedication to providing coordinated, top-notch care right here in Greene County.”

The groundbreaking ceremony symbolizes more than just a new building—it represents a long-term investment in the health and well-being of the community. Officials emphasized that the center will address growing healthcare demands while offering residents convenient, local access to essential services.

For Greene County residents, the project is a welcome development. Many have expressed relief at the prospect of having advanced medical facilities closer to home, reducing the need for longer commutes to neighboring cities.

As construction progresses, Kettering Health plans to keep the community informed and engaged, ensuring transparency throughout the process. The health center is expected to become a cornerstone of Greene County’s healthcare infrastructure, serving as a model for accessible, patient-centered care.

With its ambitious timeline and significant financial commitment, Kettering Health’s latest venture underscores its mission to prioritize community health and innovation. Residents and local leaders alike are optimistic about the positive impact the facility will have on the region for decades to come.
