The race, which kicks off at 8:45 a.m. on May 16, will temporarily shut down several roads in the North Bank Park area. Organizers advise drivers to plan alternate routes or expect delays during the event.

Race Route and Road Closures

Participants will begin at the intersection of Neil Avenue and W Spring Street, winding through downtown before looping back to the finish line on Spring Street.

To ensure runner safety, rolling road closures will start at 8:15 a.m., with most streets reopening by 10:30 a.m. The following roads will be affected between 2 a.m. and noon:

  • Long Street: Closed between High Street (east) and Hocking Street (west).
  • Spring Street: Shut down from West Street (east) to Hocking Street (west).
  • Neil Avenue: Blocked from Nationwide Boulevard (north) to the start/finish line (south).

Local authorities recommend checking traffic updates before heading out Saturday morning.

A Community United Against Breast Cancer

The Race for the Cure is more than just a run—it’s a powerful show of solidarity. Survivors, families, and advocates come together to honor those battling breast cancer and remember loved ones lost to the disease.

Funds raised support groundbreaking research, patient care programs, and education initiatives through Susan G. Komen, one of the world’s leading breast cancer organizations.

How to Participate or Support

For those unable to run, donations can still be made online. Spectators are encouraged to cheer along the route or volunteer at water stations and check-in booths.

With clear skies forecasted, organizers expect a strong turnout. “Every step brings us closer to a cure,” said a Komen Columbus spokesperson.
